"Great club, probably the best kept secret in Southern Calif with respect to affordable sailing clubs. Victory 21 rental is $40 an hour in Santa Barbara, we are $10. Races are just $30, and we race every month of the year. Fleets range from casual to serious racers."

"After moving to San Diego from the east coast, I was looking for a way to resume sailboat racing and occasional day sailing without having to buy a boat and join a yacht club. Convair Sailing Club has provided low key but competitive one design racing in both spinnaker and non-spinnaker classes, easy access to day sailing, as well as friendly and fun sailing partners at minimal cost; a perfect solution!"

"Old club with older boats and the oldest sailors in San Diego. This club is different from other clubs in that you will learn and practice the basics before you are given bigger and bigger boats to sail. Everything is out of doors and there is no office but you do get access to a pool and BBQ area as part of your very reasonable membership dues and ridiculously low priced boat rentals."
